Between Stars and Shadows

Hello friends,

It's day 2, and we're still glowing-- almost to our first 48 hours funding goal to unlock an extra mystery sticker for the celestial sticker pack!

The 5x7 print artwork has been selected, and in addition to the cover art, three fantastic pieces from both versions of the anthology will be available as prints:

For the next week, we'll be featuring some awesome sneak peeks at what you'll find inside the zine, so stay tuned for updates.

Thank you for helping us create these wonderful zines!

Yesterday Printopia begun, and today we're keeping pace towards our funding goal while Early Bird rewards are still in effect. Thank you to every single one of you who backed, shared, or just sent good energy our way.

We want to keep the momentum going today with a fun discussion:

If you could step into any kind of world — sci-fi, fantasy, or something in between — what would it feel like?  It doesn't have to be from something you've read or watched-- but imagine the texture of it. Would it be vast and cold and full of stars? An overgrown grove and faintly magical? A world full of cities that hum with something untouchable?

Paint us a picture with words, share your glimpse into another world, and leave us wanting to go there in the comments.

Wait, where did the time go?

The campaign goes live on September 10th, which is only a week away; and I thought folks might like a preview of what's in store.

Firstly, there are two incentive rewards available:

Early bird backers (pledge in the first 48 hours) will receive a complimentary moon bookmark with their rewards (Stardust and digital-only tiers excluded)

Returning Backers (anyone who has supported any of my Backerkit campaigns before) will receive a complimentary Sparkle acrylic pin with their rewards. (Stardust and digital-only tiers excluded)

Cross-Collaboration Exclusives

In addition to the campaign rewards that will be available to go with the zine anthology, there will be some Printopia rewards that backers can recieve with their order by supporting other Printopia creators.

There will be a foil bookmark backers in physical tiers can receive when they support both this campaign and our partner campaign, Broken River Zines. Backers will receive an exclusive bookmark from our partner campaign too-- artwork for both will be revealed soon!

For an exclusive Printopia digital zine from the Sci-fi Banner,  Back 3+ projects in a banner to earn its zine— if you support 3 members of each banner, you could get up to up to 6 exclusive zines!

Here's a little teaser of our piece included in the zine, drawn by Maegan Cook:

If that's not enough, there are also some amazing campaign-only exclusive items and achievements to unlock being planned, so please follow the project to be notified when everything launches and stay tuned!

P.S. there's a poll attached to give your input on one of the campaign add-ons, a shining star enamel pin.

Hey friends,

I'm so excited to finally share the cover art for the zine with you.

Between Stars and Shadows is almost here... and today, before anyone else, you get to see the cover!

I'm so proud of how this Celestial Goddess turned out... and I know what you're thinking. You're thinking 'How is this going to work for a cover?'

So, to that I say: this is the cover you'll hold in your hands once the zine comes together.

And speaking of holding the zine in your hands— the campaign launches September tenth. That's just around the corner, and you'll want to be ready.

Here's what's waiting for you:

✦ Early Birds AND Returning Backer rewards  ✦

Pledge Levels:

✦ Navigator — $10* — digital PDF
✦ Voyager — $20* — printed copy of the anthology
✦ Cosmic Traveler — $30* — printed copy of the anthology, signed, and an art print
✦ Celestial — $65* — the full bundle (zine + campaign merchandise)

(The Celestial bundle is limited. Once they're gone, they're gone.)

You're getting this email because you've been with us on this journey, whether that's since Constellations in Flux, Re-Spun Threads, Ephemeral Moments, Golden Apples & Poisoned Chalices; or you're brand new to what MCC Zines does. Either way, we're so glad you're here for this anthology.

With so much gratitude,

Maegan. Project Coordinator
